Feed the workpiece between the fence and the blade, however, if the wood stands at 6 inches or less between the fence and the blade, then use the push stick.

1. Lock the fence by pressing the rail lock lever down. Remove the miter gauge.
2. Lift the blade to about 1/8 inch above the top of the workpiece.
3. Lay the workpiece flat on the table, and let it align with the fence. Keep the workpiece about 1 inch away from the blade.
4. Turn on the saw and allow the blade to run for a while. With both hands carefully feed the workpiece slowly all the way through the saw blade. Push it continually until it falls off the rear of the table. Do not pull the workpiece back while the blade

When bevel ripping, repeats the process above except that you need to set to an angle other than zero degrees.
