Smaller Space for Water for the Unit?

Each AeroGarden is simple to set-up, and this version is no different. The one detail consumers are curious about is the water space once the plants begin to harvest. After the plants start to grow large in size, will it be a challenge to add water due to the size?

In newer models, the front easily lifts up for the gardener to fill with water in a simple manner. However, with the Harvest Elite, the space is smaller and found on the top. Some consumers complain about this change and hope it is somehow an enhanced feature.

After using the product, consumers give the product rave reviews on the ability to refill the water. Some claim that even after the plants grow to their fullest, the access to supplying nutrients and water is simple.

The AeroGarden Harvest Elite is Quite

One feature indoor gardeners are enjoying to its fullest is the lack of loud sounds it makes. This version is even quieter than the earlier models. The units that came before this enhanced version had some complaints about the “rattling” sound each made due to being on a solid countertop.

Thanks to the lighter material, the Harvest Elite makes less noise while continuing to produce abundant, healthy produce.

Fast Harvesting and Guaranteed Production

With this product, 51 percent of the consumers that bought and use this version presented positive reviews of how fast and prosperous many of the pods grew. One consumer said that after only 11 days, she had three seeds producing. The remaining pods were slow harvesting herbs which take a bit longer.

The good news is, even if the remaining seeds do not produce, Miracle-Gro stands behind their product and will replace each pod that does not deliver. The company has always stood behind their promise to prompt, stellar customer service.

Lack of Variety in the Pods?

One other complaint consumers mention is it comes with three various types of basil herb in the kit. Many states it would be nice if the manufacturer provided one of each in cilantro, oregano, and basil for variety or some other combination in a mixture.

The good news is, you can buy separate pods to add and swap at any time. The pods are not expensive, and all would blend well. It is best, however, to order the pods in the same item class as to not plant the wrong type. Be sure to read here to choose the best products for your AeroGarden.

Patented Nutrients

The main concern about the nutrients is the small size bottle that comes with the kit. Consumers suggest that when you place your order that you go ahead and order a larger bottle size to save time. You can read our review on the best-selling nutrients and how to order yours here.

You need to ensure you have plenty on hand because once the plants are beginning to sprout, they will continue to harvest for months. You do not want to find yourself out of the patented nutrients that could hinder your plant’s ability to produce.

Improved LED Lighting System

One of the favorite new features with this improved unit is the advanced LED 20 watt; full spectrum LED lighting system. The LED lights are a nice improvement from the CFL lights on earlier older models. The high-performance stays tuned in to the unique spectrum that provides the plants with maximum photosynthesis.

That process is what improves the natural growth which results in rapid, abundant harvest.

Improved and Simple-to-Use Control Panel

This model is the first unit to offer the improved control panel. The simple-to-operate panel tells the user when to add the nutrient and water. It also turns the LED lighting system off and on, automatically.

Products that Come with the Kit

Other than the actual machine, six pods of various gourmet, herb seeds come with each kit. These are:

  • Thai Basil
  • Mint
  • Dill
  • Thyme
  • Genovese Basil
  • Curly Parsley

Also, you get pull-out trays for your pods, the containers for the seeds and three ounces of patented nutrients. The company claim the small bottle of nutrients is plenty for an entire season. However, as mentioned above, be safe and order yourself a larger bottle.

Also, the unit is simple to set up as no tools are necessary. You can grow up to six plants at one time and remember, the plants grow thanks to water and not soil.

FAQs:

Q: Do I have to use these manufacturers seed pods to use this unit?

A: No. You can actually use your empty seed pods while adding your own seeds. You will need to be extra careful on the variety due to the pods having to remain compact and short. Also, you must know the plant you are growing really well so that you do not produce a plant that is too wide or tall for the AeroGarden.

Q: Should I expect an increase in utility bills with this new model?

A: No you should not see an increase in your power bill as the light is only a 25watt bulb. (more details)
